Arriving in Da Nang at 1am: Which Night to Book and What the Airport Cannot Do
Land at one in the morning and the night you need is the one before your arrival date, not the night of it. The airport has nowhere to sit it out.

1. The hour you land decides which night you have to book
If you land at Da Nang airportMap at one in the morning, the night you need to have booked is the one before your arrival date. The usual red-eye leaves Incheon at 22:15 and lands here at 01:00. A hotel night starts that afternoon. Land at 01:00 on the 15th holding a booking for the night of the 15th and your room opens at 14:00 that day, thirteen hours later, with the lobby in between.

2. There is no waiting it out at the airport
Two pieces of standard advice travel badly to Da Nang: use a lounge, and wait in the terminal until morning. Neither is available to you on arrival here.

The lounge floor is the detail that matters. Once you clear immigration and customs you are outside the secure area with no way back in, so a lounge is simply not on the menu for an arriving passenger, whatever your card or membership says.
On whether the terminal stays open all night the sources disagree. Some list it as 24 hours; others give 06:00 to 23:00 with a few hours closed overnight and security reopening around 04:00. Either way there is almost nothing an arriving passenger can use, so the plan for those hours has to be made before you land.

3. The previous night against the early check-in fee
The obvious question is why not simply ask for early check-in. Putting the two prices side by side answers it.

That fee scale was built for morning arrivals. Walking into a room at 02:00 is using the previous night whatever it is called, and hotels price it as such. For the same money the booked night carries no risk, and the risk is real: waiting on availability is exactly how people end up spending the night in a lobby.
Two things to confirm on the booking page. Whether the property accepts late check-in at all, and whether reception is staffed around the clock. 4. Getting out of the airport at two in the morning
The journey is the easy part. The airport’s own arrival guide states that taxis run 24/7, specifically including late-night and early-morning arrivals. Buses are the exception: city routes do not start until 05:30 and suburban ones until 07:30, so they are irrelevant to a red-eye.

5. Three things to settle in the arrivals hall
Fewer things are open down there at this hour, so do them in this order.

Connectivity comes first for a practical reason. The ride-hailing app, the message to your hotel and the map all need it. There are SIM counters in the baggage reclaim area, but nothing guarantees they are staffed at 02:00. Left luggage sits in the public area of the arrivals terminal and in the glass building near the car park. Published rates are around 78,000 VND per bag during the day and 100,000 VND per locker after 23:00, though overnight staffing is not something to count on, so have a fallback if your plan depends on dropping bags. 6. What is actually open between 2am and 6am
If a room is waiting, sleep. If it is not, move towards the places that are genuinely trading rather than sitting in a terminal that is not built for it.

7. The airport is inside the city
Da Nang’s runway is not out in the countryside. Housing runs along the fence and every district a visitor might sleep in is close. These are straight-line distances from the terminal, calculated from mapped coordinates.

Which is why the problem with a red-eye here is the room and not the journey. No district is far enough from the terminal to justify choosing a hotel by proximity to it. Choose on whether reception is staffed overnight and whether late check-in is accepted instead.

8. The departure day has the opposite problem
A late-night departure inverts everything. Check-out is 12:00 and the flight is not until late, so this time it is the day that has to be filled. The difference is that on this side the options actually exist.

The international lounge runs 04:30 to 23:30 and has showers, which is the single best argument for it before a night flight. It is past passport control, so you have to check in and clear security first, not drift in from the kerb.
Departures are also where Da Nang’s queues actually bite: few of the airlines serving the airport offer online check-in with self bag drop, so the counters back up. 9. Before you close the booking screen
